Theodosios of Trebizond

St. Theodosios, abbot of Philotheou on Athos and Metropolitan of Trebizond.

St. Theodosios was born in Trebizond in the fourteenth century and became a monk and later abbot of the Philotheou Monastery on Mount Athos. Tradition relates that he was chosen Metropolitan of his native Trebizond, where he served with wisdom during troubled times.

He is commemorated on January 11.
