Pelagia of Diveyevo

Blessed Pelagia of Diveyevo, fool-for-Christ.

St. Pelagia was a married woman of Arzamas who, with the blessing of St. Seraphim of Sarov, took up the life of a fool-for-Christ and lived at the Diveyevo convent, enduring beatings and mockery with patience. She was granted the gifts of clairvoyance and healing.

She reposed in 1884 and is commemorated on January 30.

On the New Calendar, Pelagia of Diveyevo is commemorated on January 30. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 12 of the civil calendar.
