Philip of Gortyna

Saint Philip, Bishop of Gortyna in Crete, apologist of the second century.

Philip was Bishop of Gortyna, the ancient capital of Crete, in the second century and is praised by Saint Dionysios of Corinth for the steadfastness of his church.

He wrote a treatise against the heresy of Marcion and is honored among the early fathers of the Church of Crete.
