Right-believing Great Prince Rostislav of Kiev and Smolensk.
St. Rostislav, baptized Michael, was Prince of Smolensk and later Great Prince of Kiev in the twelfth century. He founded the diocese of Smolensk, built churches, and was known for his justice, his love of peace among the quarreling princes, and his generosity to monasteries.
He reposed in 1167 on his way back to Kiev, and his memory is kept on March 14.
