Rufus the Venerable

Venerable Rufus the Hermit.

Rufus is commemorated in the Synaxarion as an ascetic who lived in the wilderness and reposed in peace. The details of his life are not preserved.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Rufus the Venerable is commemorated on October 22. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 4 of the civil calendar.
