Sarah of Sketis

Venerable Sarah, desert mother of Sketis, whose sayings are preserved among the Desert Fathers.

St. Sarah was an ascetic of the Egyptian desert who lived for many years beside a river near Sketis. Her sayings are recorded among the Sayings of the Desert Fathers, where she is remembered for her fierce struggle against temptation and her spiritual wisdom.

She reposed in peace after a long life of asceticism.
