Holy Martyr Sebastiane of Heraclea, disciple of the Apostle Paul.
Sebastiane, according to tradition a disciple of the Apostle Paul, was brought before the governor Sergius at Marcianopolis in the reign of Domitian. She was cast into a furnace and thrown to wild beasts but was preserved unharmed.
She was finally beheaded at Heraclea in Thrace, and the Church honors her among the earliest women martyrs.

On the New Calendar, Sebastiane the Martyr is commemorated on October 24. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 6 of the civil calendar.
