Stephen of Chenolakkos

Venerable Stephen, founder of the Chenolakkos Monastery near Chalcedon.

St. Stephen founded the Monastery of Chenolakkos in Bithynia near Chalcedon in the eighth century, after living as a monk in Palestine. He guided a large brotherhood in the ascetic life and reposed in peace.

He is commemorated on January 14.
