The Ten Thousand Holy Martyrs, who were put to the sword.

The Greek synaxarion for March 18 commemorates ten thousand martyrs who confessed Christ and were put to the sword during the persecutions of the early Church. The place and time of their martyrdom have not been preserved.

The Church honors the whole company on this day.

On the New Calendar, Ten Thousand Martyrs is commemorated on March 18. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 31 of the civil calendar.
