Holy Martyrs Theodore of Perge, his mother Philippa, and Dioscorus, Socrates and Dionysius.
Theodore was a young soldier of Perge in Pamphylia who refused to sacrifice to the idols and was cruelly tortured in the second century. The pagan priest Dioscorus, seeing his endurance, believed in Christ and was burned; the soldiers Socrates and Dionysius who guarded him likewise confessed and were speared.
Theodore was crucified, and his mother Philippa, who stood by him, was beheaded. They are honoured together.
