Theodota, mother of Cosmas and Damian

Righteous Theodota, the pious mother of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian.

Saint Theodota was the mother of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian of Asia. Widowed early, she raised her sons in piety and the fear of God, and tradition credits her upbringing with their later life of healing without payment.

She is commemorated together with her sons on the day of their feast.
