Theokletos the Martyr

Holy Martyr Theokletos, the former sorcerer who believed through St. Photini.

Theokletos was a sorcerer who was sent to poison St. Photini and her companions in Rome. Seeing that the poison did them no harm, he came to believe in Christ and was baptised.

He was beheaded for his confession, receiving the crown of martyrdom in the first century.

On the New Calendar, Theokletos the Martyr is commemorated on February 26. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 11 (a day earlier in leap years) of the civil calendar.
