New Martyr Theophilos of Zakynthos, who suffered in Chios.
St. Theophilos was a sailor from Zakynthos who was falsely accused and pressured to embrace Islam. Tradition relates that he repented of a moment of weakness and boldly confessed Christ in Chios.
He was burned alive in 1635 and is honored among the New Martyrs.
