Zosimas the Soldier

Holy Martyr Zosimas the soldier, beheaded at Antioch in Pisidia under Trajan.

Saint Zosimas was a soldier from Apollonia who confessed Christ during the persecution under Trajan. Brought before the governor at Antioch in Pisidia, he endured torture and was beheaded, receiving the crown of martyrdom.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Zosimas the Soldier is commemorated on June 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 2 of the civil calendar.
