Alexander the Patrician

Holy Martyr Alexander the Patrician.

St. Alexander was a martyr of the early Church who confessed Christ before his persecutors and sealed his faith with his blood. The synaxaria preserve little of his life beyond his noble standing and his faithful confession unto death.

His memory is kept among the saints of this day, and those who bear the name Alexander honor him in their prayers. He is commemorated on August 30.
