Ammonios the Venerable

Venerable Ammonios, an Egyptian desert ascetic.

St. Ammonios is commemorated on January 10 as one of the desert ascetics of Egypt who reposed in peace. Tradition remembers him for the strictness of his fasting and the gentleness of his counsel.
