Holy Martyrs Amphianus and Edesius, brothers from Patara in Lycia who suffered under Maximinus.
Amphianus and Edesius were brothers from Patara in Lycia, sent to Beirut to study, who there came to the Christian faith. Amphianus went to Caesarea in Palestine, where he publicly rebuked the governor for sacrificing to idols and, after torture, was drowned in the sea.
Edesius was sent to labour in the mines and was later martyred at Alexandria, tradition relates, for rebuking a judge who was abusing Christian women. Both suffered in the early fourth century.

On the New Calendar, Amphianus and Edesius of Lycia is commemorated on April 2. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 15 of the civil calendar.
