Venerable Gregory, who lived the ascetic life near Nicomedia.
Gregory is remembered in the Greek synaxaria as an ascetic who practised the monastic life in the region of Nicomedia in Bithynia. Tradition relates that he lived in quiet stillness and prayer and reposed in peace.
Few details of his life have been preserved beyond his name and the place of his struggles.
