Anatolios and Protoleon

Holy Martyrs Anatolios and Protoleon, soldiers who confessed Christ at the martyrdom of Saint George.

Anatolios and Protoleon were officers of the imperial army who witnessed the endurance of the Great Martyr George under torture and the wonders worked through him. They declared themselves Christians before the emperor.

They were beheaded at Nicomedia in the early fourth century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Anatolios and Protoleon is commemorated on April 23. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 6 of the civil calendar.
