Anectus the Martyr

Holy Martyr Anectus of Caesarea in Cappadocia, who suffered under Diocletian.

Saint Anectus was a Christian of Caesarea in Cappadocia who, tradition relates, openly confessed Christ during the persecution of Diocletian, encouraged those being tortured, and was himself tortured and beheaded.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Anectus the Martyr is commemorated on June 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 10 of the civil calendar.
