Pierius of Antioch

Hieromartyr Pierius, presbyter of Antioch.

Saint Pierius was a priest of Antioch who, tradition relates, was arrested for his confession of Christ during the persecutions and gave his life as a hieromartyr.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Pierius of Antioch is commemorated on June 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 10 of the civil calendar.
