Aquila and Priscilla

Holy Apostles Aquila and Priscilla, fellow-workers of St. Paul.

Aquila, a Jew of Pontus, and his wife Priscilla were tentmakers living in Corinth when St. Paul came to lodge and work with them. They accompanied him to Ephesus, instructed Apollos in the faith, and opened their home as a church.

St. Paul greets them warmly in his epistles as those who risked their necks for his life; tradition relates that they ended their lives as martyrs.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Aquila and Priscilla is commemorated on February 13. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 26 of the civil calendar.
