Bassos, Eusebios, Eutychios and Basilides

Holy Martyrs of Nicomedia, senators converted by the martyrdom of St. Theopemptos.

Sts. Bassos, Eusebios, Eutychios and Basilides were men of senatorial rank in Nicomedia who, tradition relates, believed in Christ on witnessing the martyrdom of Bishop Theopemptos. They were subjected to various tortures and put to death in the persecution of Diocletian.

They are commemorated on January 20.

On the New Calendar, Bassos, Eusebios, Eutychios and Basilides is commemorated on January 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 2 of the civil calendar.
