Hieromartyr Chrysostomos of Smyrna and the bishops martyred with him in the Asia Minor catastrophe of 1922.
St. Chrysostomos was Metropolitan of Smyrna in the years of the Asia Minor catastrophe. Refusing to abandon his flock when the Turkish army entered the city in September 1922, he was handed over to a mob and killed. With him the Church honors the hierarchs Gregory of Kydonies, Ambrose of Moschonisia, Prokopios of Ikonion and Euthymios of Zela, who were martyred in the same days, together with the clergy and laity who died with them.
They were glorified by the Church of Greece in 1992 and are commemorated on September 13.

On the New Calendar, Chrysostomos of Smyrna and the Hierarchs with him is commemorated on September 13. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on September 26 of the civil calendar.
