Saint Damaskenos the Studite, Bishop of Liti and Rentini, author of the Thesauros.
Saint Damaskenos was born in Thessaloniki in the sixteenth century and became a monk of the Studion. He was later Bishop of Liti and Rentini and Metropolitan of Naupaktos and Arta, and is remembered for his collection of homilies in the vernacular, the Thesauros, which was read throughout the Greek world under Ottoman rule.
He reposed in 1577 and was recognized as a saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

On the New Calendar, Damaskenos the Studite is commemorated on November 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 10 of the civil calendar.
