Saint James the Wonderworker, Bishop of Rostov.
Saint James was Bishop of Rostov in the fourteenth century. Tradition relates that when he spared a woman condemned to death, the people drove him from the city; he spread his mantle on the lake and floated across it, and founded a monastery on the far shore.
He reposed in 1392.

On the New Calendar, James of Rostov is commemorated on November 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 10 of the civil calendar.
