Holy Martyr Dasius, the soldier of Dorostolum who refused to play the king of the Saturnalia.
Saint Dasius was a soldier at Dorostolum on the Danube during the reign of Diocletian. Chosen by lot to play the king in the pagan festival of Saturn, he refused to take part in the revelry and openly confessed Christ.
He was tortured and beheaded. His relics were later brought to Ancona in Italy.

On the New Calendar, Dasius of Dorostolum is commemorated on November 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 3 of the civil calendar.
