Holy Martyrs Proclus and Hilarius.
The holy martyrs Proclus and Hilarius suffered for Christ in the early centuries of the Church, during the Roman persecutions. Tradition relates that Proclus was seized first and endured torture with steadfastness, and that his witness moved his kinsman Hilarius to confess Christ openly; both were put to death for the faith.
The synaxaria preserve little more than their faithful confession, which the Church treasures as a seed of the Gospel. They are commemorated on November 20.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Proclus the Martyr is commemorated on November 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 3 of the civil calendar.
