St. Diokles is commemorated as an ascetic who left the world to live in prayer and fasting. Little is recorded of his life beyond his ascetic labors.

On the New Calendar, Diokles the Venerable is commemorated on July 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 1 of the civil calendar.
