Dios of Antioch

Venerable Dios the Wonderworker, abbot in Constantinople.

St. Dios was born in Antioch and lived as an ascetic before coming to Constantinople in the reign of Theodosios the Great, where he founded a monastery. Tradition relates that he was granted the gift of working miracles.

He reposed in peace in the fifth century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Dios of Antioch is commemorated on July 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 1 of the civil calendar.
