Venerable Hilarion the Georgian, wonderworker, who reposed in Thessaloniki.
Saint Hilarion was born in Georgia in the ninth century and became a monk at an early age. He travelled to the Holy Land, Mount Olympus in Bithynia, Rome and Constantinople, living in prayer and working miracles.
He settled finally in Thessaloniki, where he reposed in peace in 875. His relics were later carried to Constantinople.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Hilarion the Iberian is commemorated on November 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 2 of the civil calendar.
