Holy Martyr Kalliopios of Perge, crucified for Christ at Pompeiopolis in Cilicia.
Kalliopios was born in Perge in Pamphylia to a devout widow named Theoklia, who raised him in the faith. During the persecution of the early fourth century he confessed Christ at Pompeiopolis in Cilicia and was cruelly tortured.
Tradition relates that he was crucified head downward during Holy Week, and that his mother received his body and buried it.

On the New Calendar, Kalliopios the Martyr is commemorated on April 7. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 20 of the civil calendar.
