Leo of Samos

Saint Leo, Bishop of Samos.

Leo is commemorated in the Greek synaxaria as a holy bishop of the island of Samos who shepherded his flock in piety and reposed in peace. The details of his life have not been preserved.

He is venerated among the local saints of the eastern Aegean.

On the New Calendar, Leo of Samos is commemorated on April 26. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 9 of the civil calendar.
