Marinos the Martyr

Holy Martyr Marinos, the soldier.

St. Marinos was a soldier who suffered for Christ during the Roman persecutions. Tradition relates that he was denounced as a Christian by a rival who wanted his position, and that when he confessed the faith openly he was tortured and beheaded.

The Church keeps his memory on March 17.

On the New Calendar, Marinos the Martyr is commemorated on March 17. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 30 of the civil calendar.
