Onesimos the Wonderworker

Venerable Onesimos the Wonderworker of Magnesia.

St. Onesimos was born in Caesarea of Palestine and embraced the monastic life in his youth. Tradition relates that he lived as an ascetic near Ephesus and later founded a monastery at Magnesia, where he was known for his gifts of healing.

He reposed in peace in the fourth century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Onesimos the Wonderworker is commemorated on July 14. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 27 of the civil calendar.
