Holy Martyr Polykarpos the New.

St. Polykarpos the New is commemorated as a martyr who confessed Christ and suffered for the faith. He is called 'the New' to distinguish him from the great Hieromartyr Polycarp of Smyrna.

Tradition relates that he died by the sword.

On the New Calendar, Polykarpos the New is commemorated on July 7. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 20 of the civil calendar.
