Thomas of Maloea

Venerable Thomas of Maloea.

St. Thomas of Maloea was, according to tradition, a man of prominence and strength in the world who left all things to become a monk, taking up the life of prayer and ascetic struggle on Mount Maloea. There he lived in stillness, and God glorified his hidden labors with the grace of wonderworking.

The synaxaria preserve little else of his life beyond his renunciation of the world and his holiness in the desert. He is commemorated on July 7.
