Venerable Romylos the Athonite, disciple of St. Gregory of Sinai.

St. Romylos was born in Vidin in the fourteenth century and became a disciple of St. Gregory of Sinai at Paroria. He later lived in stillness on Mount Athos and, when the Holy Mountain was troubled by invasions, went to Serbia and settled near the Ravanica Monastery, where he reposed.
He is commemorated on January 16 together with his disciples.

St. Romylos was born at Vidin in Bulgaria in the fourteenth century and became a disciple of St. Gregory of Sinai at Paroria, later living as a hesychast on Mount Athos. Driven from the Holy Mountain by Turkish raids, he settled at the monastery of Ravanica in Serbia, where he reposed.
His life was written by his disciple Gregory. He is commemorated on September 18.
