Holy Martyrs Straton, Philip, Eutychianos and Kyprianos of Nicomedia.
These four martyrs preached Christ to the crowds at the theatre of Nicomedia and drew many away from pagan spectacles. Arrested by the governor, they refused to sacrifice and were thrown to wild beasts and then burned.
They are commemorated together on this day.

On the New Calendar, Straton, Philip, Eutychianos and Kyprianos is commemorated on August 17. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 30 of the civil calendar.
