Tertius, Mark, Justus and Artemas

Holy Apostles Tertius, Mark, Justus and Artemas of the Seventy.

Tertius wrote down the Epistle to the Romans at Paul's dictation and became the second Bishop of Iconium. Mark, also called John, was the nephew of Barnabas and Bishop of Apollonia. Justus, called Barsabas, was one of the two put forward to replace Judas and became Bishop of Eleutheropolis. Artemas was Bishop of Lystra.

All four labored for the Gospel and are honored among the Seventy Apostles.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Tertius, Mark, Justus and Artemas is commemorated on October 30. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 12 of the civil calendar.
