• Zenobios and Zenobia

  Martyr, Ζηνόβιος

  Saints Zenobios and Zenobia were brother and sister from Cilicia in Asia Minor. Zenobios, a physician who healed the sick without payment in the name of Christ, became a bishop of the Church; during the persecution under Diocletian he was arrested, and Zenobia freely joined her brother so that she might share his confession and his sufferings.

• Kleopas the Apostle

  Apostle, Κλεόπας

  Kleopas was one of the two disciples to whom the risen Lord appeared on the road to Emmaus and who recognized Him in the breaking of the bread. Tradition names him the brother of Joseph the Betrothed and numbers him among the Seventy.

• Tertius, Mark, Justus and Artemas

  Apostle, Τέρτιος, Μάρκος, Ιούστος και Αρτεμάς

  Tertius wrote down the Epistle to the Romans at Paul's dictation and became the second Bishop of Iconium. Mark, also called John, was the nephew of Barnabas and Bishop of Apollonia. Justus, called Barsabas, was one of the two put forward to replace Judas and became Bishop of Eleutheropolis. Artemas was Bishop of Lystra.

• Eutropia the Martyr

  Holy Woman, Ευτροπία

  Eutropia was a Christian of Alexandria who visited and encouraged the confessors in prison during the persecution of Decius. Arrested for this, she boldly confessed Christ before the governor.

• Markianos of Syracuse

  Hierarch, Μαρκιανός Συρακουσών

  Markianos was sent by the Apostle Peter from Antioch to Sicily, where he became the first Bishop of Syracuse and converted many from paganism, living in a cave outside the city.

  Martyr, Αστέριος, Κλαύδιος, Νέων και Νεονίλλη

  These three brothers and their sister were denounced as Christians by their stepmother, who coveted their inheritance, and brought before the governor Lysias at Aegae in Cilicia.

• Stephen Milutin, Dragutin and Helen of Serbia

  Saint, Στέφανος Μιλιούτιν, Θεόκτιστος και Ελένη

  Stephen Milutin ruled Serbia from 1282 to 1321 and built or endowed many churches and monasteries, from Chilandar on Athos to Jerusalem and Constantinople, being honored as the greatest builder among Serbian kings. His brother Dragutin gave up the throne to him and ended his life as the monk Theoktistos.
