Venerable Thalelaios of Cilicia, hermit near Gabala in Syria.
St. Thalelaios came from Cilicia and lived as a hermit near Gabala in Syria on the site of a former pagan shrine. He built himself a tiny cage-like cell in which he could neither stand nor lie straight, and remained in it for many years in prayer.
His gentleness and his miracles brought many pagans of the region to Christ. He reposed in peace in the fifth century.
