Translation of the Relics of Theodore the Studite

Translation of the relics of St. Theodore the Studite to Constantinople.

St. Theodore the Studite, abbot of the Studion Monastery and confessor for the holy icons, died in exile in 826. In 844, after the restoration of the icons, his relics and those of his brother St. Joseph of Thessaloniki were solemnly returned to the Studion.

The translation is commemorated on January 26; his main feast is November 11.
