St. Symeon the Stylite of the Wonderful Mountain lived in the sixth century near Antioch. Drawn to asceticism from childhood, he took up the rare and severe podvig of the pillar saints, dwelling on a column in fasting, vigil, and unceasing prayer for the greater part of his long life, after the pattern of the first Symeon the Stylite.

Niketas was a tax collector of Pereslavl who oppressed the poor until, struck by the words of the Prophet Isaiah at church, he repented. He became a monk, wearing heavy chains and standing on a pillar in prayer.

Agatharchos is honored as an early bishop of the island of Leukas in the Ionian Sea, tradition placing him in the fourth century. He is commemorated together with the Five God-bearing Fathers who are venerated as ascetics of the island.
