Acholios of Thessaloniki

St. Acholios, Bishop of Thessaloniki, who baptized Emperor Theodosios the Great.

St. Acholios was Bishop of Thessaloniki in the fourth century. He baptized the Emperor Theodosios the Great in that city in 380, and was praised by St. Ambrose of Milan for his holiness.

He reposed in peace and is commemorated on January 23.
