Holy Martyr Clement of Ancyra.
St. Clement was Bishop of Ancyra in Galatia, in Asia Minor, during the great persecutions at the turn of the fourth century. Tradition relates that he endured an extraordinarily long martyrdom, suffering imprisonments and tortures over many years in city after city, yet never wavering in his confession of Christ.
With him is honored the martyr Agathangelos, who shared his bonds and his sufferings. Clement finished his course by the sword, receiving the crown he had so long awaited. They are commemorated on January 23.

On the New Calendar, Clement of Ankyra is commemorated on January 23. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 5 of the civil calendar.
