  Clement of Ankyra

  Martyr, Κλήμης

  St. Clement was Bishop of Ancyra in Galatia, in Asia Minor, during the great persecutions at the turn of the fourth century. Tradition relates that he endured an extraordinarily long martyrdom, suffering imprisonments and tortures over many years in city after city, yet never wavering in his confession of Christ.

• Agathangelos the Martyr

  Martyr, Αγαθάγγελος

  St. Agathangelos was a Roman who was baptized by St. Clement of Ankyra and became his companion in the long years of his sufferings. Together they endured tortures in many cities before being beheaded at Ankyra in the early fourth century.

• Dionysios of Olympus

  Venerable, Διονύσιος ο εν Ολύμπω

  St. Dionysios was born in Thessaly and became a monk on Mount Athos, where he was abbot of Philotheou. He later withdrew to Mount Olympus in Macedonia and founded there the monastery of the Holy Trinity that bears his name.

• Acholios of Thessaloniki

  Hierarch, Αχόλιος

  St. Acholios was Bishop of Thessaloniki in the fourth century. He baptized the Emperor Theodosios the Great in that city in 380, and was praised by St. Ambrose of Milan for his holiness.

• Salamanes the Silent

  Venerable, Σαλαμάνης ο Ησυχαστής

  St. Salamanes lived in a small cell on the bank of the Euphrates in the fourth century, keeping complete silence and receiving no visitors. Tradition relates that the people of his native village carried him off to have him among them, and that he remained silent and untroubled throughout.

• Mausimas the Syrian

  Venerable, Μαϋσιμάς ο Σύρος

  St. Mausimas was a priest in a village near Cyrrhus in Syria in the fourth century, who lived in extreme poverty and gave everything to the poor. Tradition relates that his jar of oil and bin of grain never ran out, however much he gave away.
