Holy Martyr Apollonios of Sardis, crucified for Christ.
St. Apollonios was a Christian of Sardis in Lydia who refused to swear by the fortune of the emperor. Brought before the governor at Iconium, he confessed Christ openly.
Tradition relates that he was crucified for his faith.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Apollonios of Sardis is commemorated on July 10. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 23 of the civil calendar.
