Saint Athanasios the New, Bishop of Christianoupolis in the Peloponnese, wonderworker.
Athanasios was born in Karytaina in Arcadia in the seventeenth century and became Bishop of Christianoupolis (Triphylia) in the Peloponnese. He shepherded his flock with love under Ottoman rule and was known for wonders in his lifetime.
He reposed in 1735 and his relics are venerated in Kyparissia and Karytaina.
