Holy Apostle Junia, companion of Andronikos and kinswoman of Saint Paul.
Junia is greeted by Saint Paul in the Epistle to the Romans, together with Andronikos, as his kinsfolk and fellow prisoners who were outstanding among the apostles and in Christ before him. Tradition relates that she labored with Andronikos in preaching the Gospel and in bringing many to baptism.
Their relics were found in Constantinople in the fifth century.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Junia the Apostle is commemorated on May 17. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 30 of the civil calendar.
